I currently work part-time as an Attorney at a shari’a-compliant law firm based out of the United States while pursuing private studies in Cairo.
I was born in Bihar, India and grew up in Colorado. After completed a B.A. at the University of Colorado, Boulder in Molecular Biology, I moved to California for work and simultaneously change career paths. After a few years, I matriculated into law school at the University of California, Davis, and graduated in 2024 with a J.D. and certificate in Business Law.
In Cairo, I completed a year of classical Arabic studies at Nile Center, then moved to private studies in the sacred Islamic sciences with a particular focus in Maliki Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh. I write regularly on issues related to both seeking ‘ilm and substantive matters, as well as contemporary issues that run the gamut from Islamic bioethics, science fiction, politics and cultural critique, for platforms including Maliki Fiqh Q&A, Muslim Matters, Traversing Tradition, and Sacred Footsteps.
